Criminal Organization

Criminal organization... what does that mean? For me it means a group of people who knowing commit crimes or allow its members to commit crimes. Since the Catholic church child-sexual abuse stories began to surface I've always believed that the church is involved in organized crime.

Think about it. This is an organization that is one of the wealthiest conglomerates on the planet. Has been for centuries. The church got its wealth from pillaging and desecrating people around the world for 100's & 100's of years. It is an organization that needs to protect itself from the outside world. That means protecting the members of the church, too.

How many priests, bishops, etc have been protected from allegations of abusing children? Much more than what has been reported. If accused, the person in question is usually moved or transferred to another location or duty. They are not dealt with appropriately. And by appropriately I mean within the justice system. There have been only a few members of this criminal organization that have been forced to face the consequences of their actions.

It sickens me to know that the abuse that has been going on probably since the beginning of the church has been allowed to continue by the so-called leaders of this organization. An organization that is supposed to be here for the people. An organization that is supposed to help us get closer to God (whoever she is).

Yet, this is an organization that will continue to hide behind people's faith and love to try to hide the abuse and not deal with this incredibly huge problem properly.

Where are the background checks for priests, bishops and all the other leaders within this organization? Where are the safe guards for the children exposed to this violence and abuse? Why do these organizations continue to receive tax exemption status by governments around the world? Why do people who are searching for faith and religion continue to support these criminal organizations?

Yes, these groups/churches are criminal organizations run by criminals. Organized crime endorsed by governments, and therefore, the law.

My rant was brought to you today by someone who made the following comment on this CBC news story:

Comment:
The catholic church should be declared a "criminal organization" and anyone that chooses to belong to this group is suspect. The church has a long history of this type of crime along with other predatory practices. It also use the threat of punishment (going to hell) to enforce compliance from its members. It has consistently tried to maintain secrecy and tried to obstruct justice by moving priests who have had accusations made against them to new parishes and refusing to cooperate with police investigations.

The whole organization is despicable and perverted and anyone who after all this still chooses to support it is also a scumbag.

Any other group in our society that was committing as consistent a pattern of crimes would have been labeled a gang or criminal enterprise long ago.

2006 Canadian Census Maps

Not going to go into specifics, but my friend has let her fiance's aunt take over the wedding photography; I don't even know why I'm going to the wedding anymore. I mean... it's a baptist/christian fundamentalist wedding. I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb. Plus, THEY give me the creeps.

Where's the booze? Oh, right... there won't be any. FUCK!!!
