It's a New Year!
I’m not one for New Year’s resolutions; I don’t believe in them. I mean, why wait for a specific time. If you’re going to start something, do it now rather than waiting for a date.
After saying that, I know that this is going to sound like a New Year’s resolution, but I started this over a month ago, thinking that the upcoming year will be awesome for me. I will be better. Not only in spirit or the things that I do, but also in my health, my demeanor, my outlook, my emotions, my mind, and ultimately my body. I want to have fun this year; I haven’t had a great year since 1998 (but I won’t go into that here and now, maybe later).
Also, last week I signed up for Men’s Health “New Year, New You” 5-week transformation program. Hopefully it will help kick-start this tired, old, fat ass of mine; and get me off the couch.
I actually started working on losing weight at the end of November, thinking that if I could lose weight during December (or at least break even), I could lose weight anytime.
Well, here are the stats so far:
November 30, 2005: 241.6 pounds
January 1, 2006: 236 pounds
January 3, 2006: 234.6 pounds
I’ve lost 7 pounds in just over a month, and mostly without doing anything. The only thing I’ve really done is cut out junkie crap out of my diet. I’ve been bitching at my mom about the snackies she’s been buying; now she’s onto salty shite like nuts and chips. I told her if she is going to be buying nuts, at least make sure that they’re not salty; almonds would be best. I have to go shopping for good, healthy snackie food for work.

My Current Favourite Dish: Mike, the water boy (absolute dream)
Current Addiction: Flickr, check it out.
In the DVD Player: Bedtime Stories III (Ace Hanson is so hot in this one)
On the iPod (right at this moment): “Wave of Mutilation” by the Pixies
On the Tube: I hate TV. I really do. I work in TV, and I hate it.
